Fignon and his Gatorade team came to Chicago I guess because it was GA's hometown and because the race was sponsored by a crazy businessman who laid down huge prize money. A racing friend attended a Bears game with Fignon and his team, said the guy appeared to be hating it. I informed Velonews prior to the race that Fignon would be on US soil racing around Buckingham fountain in downtown Chicago and they would not believe me. I was told if I got pics of Fignon they would prominently publish anything I got. Well they published my shot of race winner Jonas(?)Carney stuffing his face with sponsor Sarah Lee's cake.
