I’m in the same boat: my problem is with the fan that is next to the power port; the sounds it has been making are truly awful.

Question:
Is it possible to just replace one of the two fans, without removing the motherboard, etc.? I believe it’s just my right side fan that is making grinding noises. I bought the replacement fans, and it looks like I could remove the right side one and maybe just replace that a lot more simply? It’s attached to the assembly by some black adhesive tape type of stuff, apparently.
