Spotify – How to Play Local Files on Android

How to add and play your own files with Spotify for Android.

For this example we’re working with Windows, MP3 files, Android 15 with a Google Pixel 8 Pro

Copy audio Files from Computer to your Phone

  1. Connect phone to computer via USB
  2. Check your phone Notifications for Charging this Device via USB, expand and chose Tap for More Options
  3. Choose File Transfer/Android Auto
  4. From your computer browse to Music folder on your phone
  5. Copy files/folders from computer to the Music folder on your phone, wait until complete

Enable Local Songs in Spotify

  1. Tap your profile picture at the top
  2. Tap Settings and privacy Settings
  3. Tap Apps and devices
  4. Under Other devices enable Local audio files

View and play your local files

  1. Tap the Your Library icon on the bottom bar
  2. Tap the new Local Files playlist
  3. You can play individual files and enable Shuffle play
  4. You can add songs to new or existing playlists and add to the queue
  5. Rock on
