Make a 28lb single speed coaster braked spot welded AMF Roadmaster bicycle go 28mph by pushing platform pedals on a loose cinder track with 33 other like minded maniacs spinning out 110 rpm. Cinders on fire! Team Posers – we had a good year with Wes Harris winning the Miss n Out, getting second in the Tempo (I got second in a semi final) doing well enough in the Time Trials to the win the pre-race Omnium overall. We qualified 3rd but weren’t able to bag the win, finishing in 8th place

I remember those days well. You guys really had a great season and had a ton of fun as well. I’ve been reminiscing a lot lately as my oldest son is now training and going out for little 5 with one of the established independent teams. In preparation, he’s riding his first Crit on Saturday. I think I’m more nervous than he is. Great reading your posts!
Good times were had, and what a great place to ride. Very cool that he’s riding Little 5 and racing. I’d be nervous too! Ah to be young and indestructible. Good luck at Little 5 and maybe I’ll see you around. I did the Hilly 100 twice with my oldest, gotta get the bike down there again.
